Now trying about.me
About.me just launched and I find it a little nicer than Flavors.me. Just created my about.me page which Quy.com is now redirecting to.

I was using magntize.com to provide the home page for Quy.com but I'm now trying flavors.me I'm currently redirecting all visitors to quy.com to my flavors.me web page I've created. If things work well, I'll pay the $20/year to have Flavors.me serve quy.com without the redirect as I couldn't justify paying $9/month to Magntize for a custom domain when Flavors.me is only $20/year. To be fair, Magntize also gives you new domain name but if you already have a domain name, then Flavors.me is the preferred choice.
Fascinating article on the advancement of chess computers and how they have evolved to become just as good as grandmasters. It's interesting to hear that there are chess tournaments now that allow you to play with a chess computer as a "team".

I have been contemplating what to do with my Quy.com web site for awhile. I've had the Quy's site is under construction text on my site for way too long. I just discovered Posterous and was thinking of pointing my Quy.com domain directly to my Posterous blog but I also wanted to display my Twitter streams as well as activity from my other social networking sites like Flickr. That's when I came across this article on Mashable on social media business cards and found exactly what I wanted. Magntize allows you to build a digital business card online that could display all my contact info, including my RSS/social streams from Twitter, Flickr, and this Posterous blog. There was another site, Card.ly, that I also considered but I liked Magntize's ease of use and ability to display my social stream for free. Card.ly charges $2.99/month if you want to add your streams. Card.ly does have more free themes (27) than Magntize (4) but I was able to find a Magntize theme that I liked. The only drawback is when you want a custom domain. Magntize charges you $9/month or $99/year while Card.ly ony charges you $24.99/year (about $2/month). Magntize justifies the cost by giving you a free domain when you buy their "Pro" account but if you already have a custom domain, then I would've liked a cheaper option.
I decided to use Magntize because I loved their ease of use, support for free RSS/social streaming, and speedy support. When I had questions about setting up my custom domain, one of the co-founders, David, answered my question quickly. When I found a bug with one of their themes, another co-founder, Aaron, quickly fixed the problem. For the sake of comparison, you can view my Magntize business card vs the Card.ly card that I have set up.
